Penco was founded by a team of experts in food chemistry and biochemistry, passionate athletes, and friends. It was the combination of our love for sports and our understanding of bodily processes—knowing how muscles and cells work and what they need—that led us in 1991 to become manufacturers of Czech sports nutrition. Even before the Velvet Revolution, we worked at the University of Chemistry and Technology (VŠCHT) developing biologically active substances for nutrition. We transformed our knowledge into recipes and subsequently into the production of PENCO products. We are not just another protein bar brand, but a manufacturer of comprehensive sports nutrition.

Handcrafted and tested with Olympians

We manufacture by hand, test with Olympians, refine, test again, and improve what is almost perfect even further. This is how the production process of PENCO products could be described. We are surrounded by professional athletes, sports doctors, coaches, and parents of actively sporting children. Together, we are constantly gathering new experiences. We evaluate how our products work, how they taste, and even whether they are easy for athletes to open in action or practical to pack for a trip.
