Caffeine Gel exhibits a distinct stimulating effect and provides prompt energy needed for physical load. Caffeine present in the gel improves concentration and conserves glycogen for the brain cells. Acting on the skeletal and cardiac muscle caffeine facilitates activation of motor units and shortens reaction time; it also expands the respiratory tract, thus securing enhanced supply of oxygen to muscles.

Delayed decay of saccharide reserves (muscle glycogen) constitutes a necessary condition for continuing high performance. Athletes successfully deal with this problem by means of the energy gel Caffeine Gel or Penco Energy Gel acting as a disposable and easily available source of energy. Caffeine Gel raises the level of the saccharide "fuel" prior to, during and after load. It contains a special mixture of complex saccharides (maltodextrins) and simple sugars (glucose and fructose). Numerous studies have shown that this combination is more efficient than a single source of saccharides. Caffeine Gel contains no fat and no fibre and provides concentrated doses of saccharides, easily resorbed, not resulting in "stomach ache" or stomach disorder. Caffeine Gel is inter alia exceptional in that it contains no thickeners (carrageenan, xanthan gum, …) that would increase water content in the gel and adversely affect its stability and flavour.

The Na^*  (sodium) and K^* (potassium) ions present in Caffeine Gel supplement minerals lost in sweat during a demanding performance. The ionic drinks Penco MD, Penco ED, and Ionogen  or the mineral-containing supplement Penco AC Salts are suitable for comprehensive replacement of minerals and for securing adequate fluid intake. The presence of such minerals is necessary to ensure standard progress of metabolic processes.

Caffeine Gel is enriched by the antioxidative system ACE that acts against the destructive effect of free radicals, decisive for successful sporting performance, and improves the natural defence capacity of the organism.

To ensure successful use of the energy gel one has to replace water lost in sweat. Utilisation of saccharides is slowed down in organisms not provided with enough water and results in an adverse effect on physical performance.  Accordingly, each dose of the energy gel must be washed down with a sufficient amount of water or of a hypotonic drink.

DOSAGE:

Take one dose 5 to 10 minutes before performance, i.e., a single-dose package or one third of the tube; during performance take another dose each 30 minutes. One dose of Caffeine Gel taken immediately after performance shortens the time needed for regeneration. Each dose should be washed down with water (200 to 300 ml) or a hypotonic drink Penco ED, MD. or Ionogen.

The maximum recommended daily dose is 175 g of Caffeine Gel.
